Tatum doesn’t have as good of a narrative for a few reasons:
- He came back this season
- His team was good without him
- He didn’t get injured on the cusp of a title
Of course, this only matters if the Pacers are awesome next season.
If Celtics comes out rocking next season #1 seed all season long Tatum miraculous come back will factor. Halli got his injury only 2 weeks after Tatum and it's not close to play, right?
The injuries occurred close together but Tatum didn’t get injured while winning game seven of the finals.
Plus, if the Celtics are awesome next season, Giannis will probably get more credit than Tatum.

The reason Hali belongs on that MVP list is because he has a great opportunity to win it next season specifically. The narrative could be heavily in his favor and there will be SGA fatigue.
