Idk how new it is but is used a lot in both kitchens and full slab showers. Personally, I don’t like working with it because it’s really fragile and if it breaks it’s really hard to glue it back together without the break being visible. I wouldn’t recommend it specifically not for a kitchen.
I haven't seen porcelain countertops before. Is it a relatively new material?
