I remember the first time making a Bitcoin transaction- was a bit scared to be honest!
How alien and weird it felt- made me realise how conditioned we are to using fiat money- money controlled by bankers and governments and via which they hold us and control us.
It is a difficult mindset shift to make to be free of the centralised power structures and realise it is now possible to be in a monetary paradigm based upon free association and inherent equality.
Most people simply cannot make that shift- most are too afraid, too conditioned.
Even now I find it amazing to be able to use sats here on SNs as a p2p v4v experience- when I tell non Bitcoiners about it they are usually quite impressed, but they still prefer to remain in the safe mainstream. Most people value a sense of security/servitude and belonging to the mainstream over freedom.
