I am not sure we know it is the Dodgers. It's not just about the money, it's about which team will be willing to give up the most assets in return and what the Tigers are looking for (a future potential superstar or quality prospects that can contribute now).

Now that might be the Dodgers because of all teams they should be the most confident they can sign him long term but who knows. Maybe the Phillies want to go all in with their aging roster. The Yankees are the team that should probably do it. They already have a top 3 rotation in baseball and Skubal would definitely make it number 1. The AL is weak. The Yankees should run away with the AL. The Mariners don't have enough hitting, the Jays have dug themselves a huge hole with their injuries and poor early season hitting. Yankees can probably cruise to the WS if they get Skubal.

As much as I hate the Yankees, objectively, they are the team that should trade for Skubal.

Yankees should and it would be definitely what you said cruise to WS

Buuuuut time after time LA has been playing the money game better than others, it's a lineup for a decade, knowing at some point the league will do something about it, why not ?
