Seattle did not demolish the Rams. Seattle demolished the 49ers who were completely decimated by injuries and coming off only 5 days rest for the divisional game. Credit to them they dominated a limping team who they should have dominated.
Seattle barely beat the Rams in the NFCCG. Stafford had a chance to win the game in the red zone in the 4th but they didn't score. Thought experiment: If the Seahawks had not gotten that wild 2 point conversion against the Rams to win that crazy TNF and had to go on the road for the NFCCG would they still have won? Debatable. Seattle played amazing down the stretch, everything was clicking while the Rams were scuffling a bit so maybe the Seahawks would win anyways but there has to be some doubt if they still would have won if not for that crazy dumbass lucky play. (To win a SB you have to be really good, really healthy and get some luck along the way. Seahawks got all of that)
The issue with the Seahawks is not losing a few players. Although Walker probably hurts a bit since Charbonet won't be ready to start the season and who knows what you get out of rookies. It's that they also lost their offensive coordinator who did an amazing job protecting Sam Darnold, putting him in positions to succeed where he could gain confidence, not need to win the game on his own and exercise his demons. Their new OC is the 49ers former TE coach. He is well respected and helped coordinate the 49ers run game but he has never called plays and would be third on the depth chart in the 49ers in terms of crafting offensive strategy. That doesn't seem like the right guy to pair with Darnold. We will see how it goes.
Also MacDonald is amazing but the league now has a whole offseason to strategize how to create space against that defense. The D is great and MacDonald is great I expect they will be really good again. I don't expect they will be generationally good. So if both the Seahawks offense and defense take even a minor step back and the Rams and 49ers are better I think 4th is pretty reasonable for them. You give them the benefit of the doubt as champions but I think they could easily finish 3rd in the NFC West.
I see the Seahawks as the Eagles of this season. Got hot, won the SB, still a good team but take a step back with a new OC, a slight regression on defense and a non elite QB. Only elite QBs lead dynasties.

I spend a lot of time coming up for excuses why the teams I don't like will suck. Then I convince myself I am correct and get extra disappointed when I am wrong. Haha
Just like last year when I said there is no way Stafford's back will hold up.
thereβs definitely no way it will hold up this year
Yes.
Right?
Because they are currently the most likely teams from the AFC to make the Super Bowl I guess. I mean if the Seagulls were 3 I wouldn't complain.
They didn't demolish the Rams. They won 2/3 but the first win they won because of a ridiculous 2 point conversion that bounced off a guys helmet. They did have a big comeback in that game so credit to them. I don't want to diminish what they accomplished most people thought they would be a 9 or 10 win team going into the season. I am just saying some things went their way. Including being the healthiest team in the league going into the playoffs.
I do think the Ravens and Bills have a lot to prove this year.
And Seattle demolished Rams, lost a RB and a safety and drops to 4th?
But that's it since Ravens are my team of the season definitely top3 or you're a hater π π
