Brunson is probably going to win finals MVP but OG Anunoby needs to get some consideration.

During the 2023/24 season the Raptors traded OG Anunoby to the Knicks and Pascal Siakam to the Pacers. OG and Spicy P were the Raptors best players at the time but they wanted to build around an ascending young star in Scottie Barnes.

There were subsequent moves to follow but effectively the Raptors ended up getting RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Brandon Ingram and Ja'Kobe Walter either directly or indirectly through these trades.

Not a bad haul but Spicy P almost won a championship last year and OG looks like he will likely win a championship this year. Should the Raptors have kept them? Would they be better off with Barners, Spicy P and OG?

Your big-3 would be a lot better and Ingram is basically the same age as the guys you lost.

Yes the starting lineup would be better. The team wouldn't be as deep and they would still have the same problem they always do which is they love collecting guys who make great number 2, 3, 4s but no superstar since Kawhi.

reply

There just aren't many guys who can anchor a contender. The best bet is to have everything in place in case you get one, which is what the Raptors did in '19.

reply

Successful. Clearly a very fair, balanced and likely trade.

reply

The best part is that it's only worth 5 wins

reply

It does seem kind of low but that would have given them home court in round 1.

reply

They'd clearly be a top 3 team in the East after that trade.

reply

OG has been a godsend! He was by far the best player in these trades
