The writeup matches my experience. At one point I was directly managing 12 people and that was not long term sustainable with also being responsible for technical direction.
Like it's possible to do it when there's at most one "situation" happening at a time, but as soon as you get more "situations", then there's just not enough time left for anything else.

A good writeup. I have been through the first 4 phases with a small company and appreciate the nuance in transition especially from a 5 person squad to an 8 person team.
