June 1, 2024, zkSNACKs — the company coordinating Wasabi Wallet’s CoinJoin — suspended that service, citing regulatory uncertainty.Wasabi itself kept working as an ordinary wallet. For a moment it looked like coordinated CoinJoin was finished.

This is wrong, zkSNACKs was replaced by decentralized coordinators. You can see their coinjoin transactions posted in real time at https://liquisabi.com

You're right, and that line undersells what happened. zkSNACKs stepping back did not end coordinated CoinJoin, independent coordinators picked up the WabiSabi protocol and kept it running. That is actually the pattern the piece argues survived 2024, the coordinator decentralizing rather than dying, so I am sharpening the Wasabi line to say it and pointing readers to LiquiSabi for the real-time view. Thanks for the correction.

Pseudonymous, not anonymous. The piece walks the clustering heuristics chain analysis actually uses (common-input-ownership, change detection), then corrects two things I see repeated: Silent Payments did not replace CoinJoin, it solves receiving privacy with no amount mixing and a real scanning cost. And JoinMarket is not dead, it is coordinator-less and kept running, with joinmarket-ng continuing it. There is a table of what each tool protects and what it does not, plus a walk-through of reading your own txns on a block explorer.
