If no human at apple sees this by 30th June MacOS updates will be cooked

yah.. it's a "continued development" thing as far as I can tell.

what doesn't make sense to me is why Craig can't just continue to make software for people who use it. seems like 'begging permission' energy, and I don't mean it rudely... but what would Satoshi have done?

I assume it's due to wanting to avoid the "this application was downloaded from the internet from an untrusted source" popup when launching Sparrow. But surely you can just have people dismiss that? Not sure...

Seeing the windowsfication trend at OSX spreading ever more has been concerning.
As much as I loved OSX until around Snow Leopard or Lion, I'm glad I dumped it for Linux years ago. If anything, I should've done it earlier rather than cling on and hope for a magical change of direction.
