There is a certain kind of place (such as I've seen in Boston and New Orleans), where the attitude is part of the allure. And I suspect that is the case here. I was not thinking of spending bitcoin when I arrived, but that little square symbol on the terminal proved too hard to pass up at least an attempt.

So the cashier tells the owner that this customer is trying to pay in Bitcoin.  The owner turns around and with a somewhat unfriendly and irritated voice said, "Oh, we didn't get that update."  I said, "Oh, yeah, because on the CashApp map it says you guys accept Bitcoin."  Now, even more irritably, "Yeah, we didn't get that update."  I felt too embarrassed to keep trying, so I decided to just tap my card.

Next time I should ask them *before* buying anything and if they give me attitude I'll just take my business elsewhere.
