And his teammate Junior Caminero hit 3 HR today, too
I remember the good old days when I zapped sats to Junior Caminero while he was playing with the Perth Heat. Now the Perth Heat got sold and they are no longer a Bitcoin baseball team.
Wow... I didn't know that... Is that for real?
Yes the Rays have a player development partnership with the Perth Heat in the Australian Baseball League. He was 19 years old at the time and the Rays wanted to transition him from SS to 3B and get him more ABs so they sent him to play with the Heat for 1 season. At that time the Heat had just become the "Bitcoin baseball team" and when players came to the plate you could scan a QR code and zap them sats over lightning. There was also a chance to steal sats from the Heat when guys would steal bases. A QR code would pop up you could scan and get some sats. Because of the time difference I only caught a couple of Heat games but I did zap sats to Caminero and also former major leaguer Josh Reddick who played in the ABL after his MLB career was over. Also a few other players but none of them notable besides those two. Unfortunately the following season they got rid of the zaps for players even though they stayed as the Bitcoin baseball team for 2 more years before they got sold and no longer have any association with Bitcoin.
Wow...that's interesting...I didn't know that...I wonder if those sats would actually reach them?
Good question. Hopefully they did.
The Dominican player was also very good, Caminero shone spectacularly!
The Red Sox, after the sweep against the Dodgers, have managed to get back on track during their current homestand... they were second behind the Yankees.
He is having a great year.
I see that he's very disciplined and has been very stable for quite some time now... he's representing Cuba well :)
