Apparently this episode was from 1997 and did feature a game between Mexico and Portugal but didn't not mention the world cup or year.
Yeah, they don't name the year but they say it's to find the best team in the world, so it's lowkey the World Cup. Plus, it's wild that this year's final is at Springfield Stadium.
