Last weekend, I took my children to KidsSTOP. It is basically a place for young kids to get acquainted with Science concepts through fun interactive activities. Consider this collaboration with the Building & Construction Authority. It allowed students to simulate operating an excavator:
Then, children can insert the balls into a conveyor belt and put magnetic poles together to ensure that the balls flow downwards like a river:
Another station that caught my eye was circular gears that came in a range of sizes. I guess it’s a great way to learn about how rotating a small gear can lead to something monumental.
I think it’s a great way to teach children construction principles. It’s just sad that civil engineering is notoriously an overwhelming industry to be in Singapore. Low pay and long working hours so, I hope that my son develops an interest — but not so much. Haha
The work life balance in America is so much better especially in the public sector

Not those in STEM professions. Not to sound to insensitive but sometimes the affordability of American life is a bit overblown.
interesting! Our government tried to develop life sciences as a growth industry, but it seems like it is a struggling field. Finance is where our moolah can be found in Singapore. There is a reason why Singapore hasn’t produced any Nobel Prize winners yet
