You may or may not know/remember that I had a new year's resolution to sleep early and to run 1000 miles (1600km) this year. I completely failed and gave up on the sleep early part. But I'm still running and am on pace to hit 1000 miles by the end of this year if I can keep this up. I guess I'm only half a failure and not a complete one... for now.

Here are some proof of work screenshots:

Monthly totals for each month.

Year to date total distance of 803km. Barely on pace to hit 1600km if I keep this up.

I was also curious to see how many steps I take over a year. So I've been wearing my watch as much as possible during my awake hours to track my steps. (I used to only wear my watch during runs, walks, and hikes.) Here are the results for the first half of the year.

Total 2,841,301 steps if I add up the monthly totals. This number in this amount of time gives me a great appreciation to the extreme durability of the human knees.

And that marks the end of my first half of 2026 in terms of exercise goals. Looking forward to a strong second half of the year.

How was your first half of the year? Did you reach/miss/obliterate your goals?

Impressive. Keep at it.

Badass!

Not fast enough to deserve that term. Maybe just a badass wannabe.

This is pretty inspiring! I used to run fairly regularly, but lately I've not been doing that. Cool to see you keeping at it!

Thanks!

It's always a good time to get back into running.

I’ve started running several times and failed; I give up... going to bed early isn't an option for me—I always have things to do at home... I admit I lack consistency.
