We can still build things and conquer the world. It does feel bleak though. I generally agree the last couple bear markets were much more optimistic. I think everyone assumed we would have won by now or at least be doing a lot more winning. Meanwhile I think more people have left crypto (I don't like to use this term and lump Bitcoin in but it's a fact that crypto has done massive damage to Bitcoin's reputation) and never looked back than joined the ranks in the last bull. The people that did "join" had a lot more money but didn't really join as Bitcoin is just another allocation or trade for them and they don't really care about anything other than NGU. In fact they would much prefer to own Bitcoin proxy shares than be bothered with the hassle of real Bitcoin. We didn't really mint any new Bitcoiners like we did in the 2018 and 2022 bear markets.

When I wrote this #572905 a couple years ago I was really bullish on emerging market adoption. I was terribly wrong. We sent them stablecoins instead.

Hey hey no need for the doom and gloom, there are some of us here experiencing our first major bear market!

Welcome to the party, how do you like it so far?

I'd be lying if I said I am unfazed, but I genuenly feel like I didn't deserve the opertunity to buy at these prices again. I had tripped into the rabbit hole before the fall 2024 run up, but was probably still >50% fiat at that point. During 2025, I kicked myself a lot for that and I had basicaly resigned myself to not having the opertunity to buy sub 70k ever again.

Good to hear. It builds resolve.

All the rest aside, these two points are pretty good indications where we ("we") completely fucked up
