the building is wonderful. it's really old. and layers and layers of additions, modifications, adjustments and demolitions have created a real mish mash and hodge bodge - which i've now added to as well!
the two skylights i put into the office roof look up at a very delapadated terrace that extends out of the 2nd floor apartment. light enters into my office through the new skylights but no direct sun, because of that terrrace.
my space has two levels, the groundfloor, which is very old. some parts of it are literally medieval. it's about 8m long and 3.5m wide. at the end of that space, there's a door which leads to a newer, but still very old, extension which is 2m deep and 5m wide. the extension has a steep ladder leading up to the office room, which you've seen, it's is approx. 2m x 3m. the office has a window which opens into the first floor apartment's patio.
so, above that office room, you have the second floor terrace. the second floor apartment tenant is able to step out of a door which leads through the main structural wall and onto their terrace which is suspended on columns rising from my properties back wall. there's about 1 meter between my office roof and the terrace, but it wasn't possible to build my roof any high, or perhaps join it to the underside of the 2nd floor terrace roof, because there's a window to the 1st floor apartment sandwiched between my office roof and the 2nd floor terrace roof.
it's a really cool space, i'll be sure to do some guided tours to show all it's quirks and features in the future, once i'm outta stealth mode ;)
this is the best i can do, just modifed the architects sketches real quick.
