The producer price index, a measure of wholesale costs, fell 0.3% in June, against a forecast for the gauge to be unchanged.
The core PPI rose 0.2%, slightly less than expected, while core less trade services increased just 0.1%.
This was the second straight day for positive inflation reports, with consumer prices off an unexpectedly strong 0.4%. The moves were largely driven by falling energy prices.
That "lower than expectations" is doing a lot of work.
Looks like Trump hired it as well.
