Yet another example of why we need a decentralized alternative to Github. Servers hosting Git repositories can be trivially coerced/shutdown by nation-states.
At some point, the Bitcoin repositories on Github will be targeted. All it would take is for an enemy of the US to adopt Bitcoin in some non-trivial way.

Git is not decentralized, despite what everyone keeps saying. Git does not provide any means for users to find all the copies of a Git repo hosted online. If that were provided out-of-the-box, then Git would be decentralized. But it doesn't, not even close.

Some discovery protocol for that could be built independently from git itself.

Git itself is decentralized. When you clone repository on your local computer, you have full history and everything. And it's easy to host it by anybody for public, can use Tor. But issue and pull request management is not, that is the main problem. https://github.com/JoinMarket-Org/joinmarket-clientserver/issues/1302
