Woke up strategically at 4.30am to watch the World Cup final. Expected to rush home to take an afternoon nap, but surprisingly, I took out my stack of Story Mountain plots and started marking them. Before I knew it, I had finished marking the entire stack. No rest for the wicked because I then had to rush to pick up my son. As if I weren’t already the GOAT, I still summoned the energy to write a model composition for my students. Not only that, I kept it brief yet profound and powerful at 250 words. I learnt that my love for writing triumphed over my chronic fatigue.

I find that I write best at the end of the day (probably because it is the time with fewest distractions). If I wake up early to write, it is usually not as good, but it can lead to more thoughts later. Perhaps your early morning gave you the boost for afternoon focus.

that’s interesting because I am usually too shagged (that’s Singlish for tired) to think straight. right now my eyes are shutting as I type this haha
