Find it weird how much controversy is stemming up online over this movie. Some fake news like Elliott page playing Achilles etc. and culture war rage baiting. Found it to be quite good personally

I enjoyed it. Would recommend seeing in a cinema.
Yes some parts aren’t ‘accurate’ but why tf do I care. It’s a myth, it’s all made up. Movies can be made however which way a director chooses. No idea why people get so worked up by this stuff. Folk going to have a heart attack living this way. Lighten up.
Watched it loved it! Fantastic movie. Damon crushed it
I thought it was great too. Feels like a lot of the online outrage had very little to do with the actual movie.
I enjoyed it a lot. Not perfect, but definitely worth seeing, and nowhere near as controversial as the online discourse made it seem.
Sometimes the internet spends more time arguing about a movie than actually watching it. Glad I judged it for myself.
The movie isn't bad, but it misses the mark by straying way too far from the historical facts in the books.
The “nobody” cyclops trick seems to be the largest divergence given the importance of that part setting the stage for Poseidon to fuck them up the rest of the time. Nolan tried to metaphorically show it with Damon shooting the arrow after they escaped but doesn’t have the same effect to demonstrate the cunning and ego of Odysseus.
I think it’s a fair critique that the film simplifies some of the ego / complicated characteristics of Odysseus but overall it’s still pretty well done and entertaining imo
Was Helen of Troy Black? ~lol
yea some odd casting choices in some areas but honestly didn’t make that much of a difference. Historical Greeks are probably a little more brown than Matt Damon and Brad Pitt too
what, Hollywood straying from historical facts?! I'm appalled
haven't seen, won't see. Too much nonsense on a classic humanity tale.
Will watch some neat podcast bro episodes on it, tho. E.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVsepqYjXQM
I love me some Nolan films, and love me some Greek (or any) mythology.
But I think this movie suffered in pretty much every area, I would guess mostly because of filming the whole thing in fucking IMAX.
A lot costumes really take you outta the movie, not talking the “historically accurate” stuff, idgaf, I mean the Trojans looking like they’re wearing armor made out of FELT.
Haven't seen it but I will watch it at some point.
Haven't watch it yet, I know the story though. If you have a link to watch a clear copy, send it because I ain't spending money to watch it.
