You have if you mined shares and got a payout, because someone recognized your effort and was willing to subsidize you in the belief that one day in the future you will find a block.

I grew up somewhere with gold mining and there’s a reason we say “mining for gold” rather than “mining gold”.

I have mined for bitcoin.

nah, as I heard from a wise guitar teacher once.... you don't have to get to a certain level to call yourself a guitarist. if you pick up a guitar and pluck a few strings, you're a guitarist.
