Reminds me of one of my favourite novels, 1984, and the dystopian setting it evoked that left me fascinated and intimidated in equal measure

1984 is excellent! This one is less tightly focused and certainly lacking the same sense of a moral: I don't know what I learned from reading Make Room! Make Room!
