Oh noooo! The world is going to end because Gen X will make decisions again. What will we do?

All my generation has been doing its entire life is living in the shadow of Boomers blowing everything and Millenials and those younger coming after getting the benefit of our work dealing with Boomer divorces, debt, over-spending and now stuck with elder care while raising the younger ones from siblings and kids to adults.

The world is ending? Okay, good, business as usual. Kind of like that meme, "Oh shit, here we go again."

My finances are doing just fine, thank you. All other generations can just bug off and mind your own business. Oh, and I doubt there is any fortune coming. As I said before in other posts, the costs of elder care are insane and eating up estates left and right. There won't be any inheritance left for anyone as a result.

I don't want to subscribe. What is the premise? Why does the author believe gen X will blow the inherited fortune?

That's the gist of my comment. It's alarmist BS by a younger generation writer beefed about assumed inheritance transfer. So with a few so-called interviews of British folks, he or she assumes an entire generation who has survived two recessions, sandwich generation responsibility, multiple layoff rounds and more has no clue how to manage money.
