Does Nick Bosa really deserve the Comeback Player of the Year award already? Hold on… he hasn't won anything yet.
In the NFL, there's a recurring tradition every summer: turning certain players into favorites before a single snap is even played. This year, one of those names is Nick Bosa.
And yes, he's a superstar.
But it's also time to ask an uncomfortable question: are we rewarding the player or the name on his back?
Because the Comeback Player of the Year award shouldn't be given out based on the memory of a dominant season or accumulated prestige. It's earned on the field. It's earned by producing. It's earned by being available when the team needs you most.
Bosa has everything it takes to win the award. He's explosive, dominant, and capable of changing a game in an instant. When he's at his best, few defensive ends can match his impact.
But that's precisely the point: he has to prove that that version of himself still exists.
Every year, stories emerge of players returning from devastating injuries or incredibly difficult times and returning to play at the highest level. These stories also deserve recognition, and none should be overshadowed simply because a media figure is involved.
If Nick Bosa finishes the season leading the league in sacks, driving a dominant defense, and leading his team to a Super Bowl berth, there's no question. Give him the award.
But if his candidacy is based solely on "he's Nick Bosa," then we're confusing fame with performance.
The NFL doesn't reward memories. It rewards results.
Now the ball is in Bosa's court. The rest is just noise.
So, what do you think? Is Nick Bosa truly the favorite for Comeback Player of the Year, or are fans jumping to conclusions too soon? Leave your thoughts in the comments and let's open the debate.
There is a market for this on Predyx.
Did you place a bet, my friend?
Yes. I created the market.
Excellent! Congratulations! I think it's great that these types of prediction apps or markets exist.
I haven't bet, my brother.
It’s an interesting award because what you’re coming back from matters, in addition to how well you come back.
If Mahomes is really good and starts the season, I don’t see how Bosa can beat him.
I am truly a lover of this sport and I follow it with great enthusiasm.
