I love to indulge a good deep state theory as much as anyone, maybe more, but the national security state has more to gain from Bitcoin adoption than anyone.

But the obvious question to ask is who does the Coldgate benefit assuming the coins largely cannot be washed: #1537048

The thing that will really rattle people is if they go to a burn address, privacy heads will explode, and it would be the first real at-scale demonstration of burn incentives.
