I know some people will be surprised that Trump said this, but if you have followed his policies, it really shouldn't be that big of a surprise. He said the same thing about defense companies months ago.
“They’re making too much money based on a shortage,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “I don’t like it.”
“Chevron, too much money. ExxonMobil, too much money,” Trump said. “They’re going to give some of that back to the public and they better cut the retail price, the consumer price.”
Now I am interested to see what he follows up with regarding giving some of this money back to the public. I have no idea how that would work but it will be something to keep an eye on.

Sure, you can highlight that, but it doesn't change what he has come out and said about two of the biggest oil and gas companies. Going after oil and gas is a pretty interesting step for him given how he has courted them for years.
