Ah, those days. Imagine casually giving away 2 BTC just to start a little forum experiment. At the time it probably felt like sending around something almost worthless. Looking at it today, it is hard not to think about how many opportunities passed right in front of people without anyone realizing what they were holding. But that is also what makes early Bitcoin history so fascinating. People were not always thinking about price. They were experimenting, sending coins, building little games, testing ideas, and learning what this strange new internet money could actually do. We missed a lot of those early opportunities. Still, reading posts like this makes me appreciate how much of Bitcoin culture was built by people simply trying things.
