- Competition is great! The AFL just like the ABA showed getting top talent kills racism.
- The Buffalo Bills were AFL champs!
- AFL brought passing to the sport and flair with bright colored jerseys with names on the back. Plus they won the Joe Namath sweepstakes.
- The New Orleans Saints only exist because of corruption in the government. The merger was done illegally thus they needed a Louisiana senator Boggs to push the bill to that LBJ signed into law clearing it the deal.
- To think the NFL got going in the 1960s to what it is now is truly amazing.
This is why I wonder if new sports will emerge. The NFL, and to a lesser extent the NBA, feel untouchable, but neither were even a big deal when the Boomers were born.
These things can and do change.
