Round-earthers are winning the homeschool meetup

Wife: Looks like 30ish kids
Wife: She was asking what shape the earth is and laughed and said "these kids are homeschooled"
Justin (shocknet)⚡️: so every kid but ours said flat?
Wife: No only a few said flat. But she laughed about it

I have not found much overlap between homeschoolers and flat earthers.

Perhaps the flatters (homeschooled and otherwise) hang out in different circles.

They definitely over represent vs. the general population, but I think that's part and parcel with the over representation of biblical literalism

I also don't think the biblical literals come out for group stuff that's more general gatherings. The flat earth family we know didn't come, they trend more to stuff specific with their church. Their kids tell other kids that space and Santa Clause aren't real, which I've seen cause drama, so it also makes sense why they in-group.

I'm going to tell my kids to start doing this.

Aren't they burdened enough by sharing the latest in fake L2's?

I have the divided the job: each one is only responsible for sharing 2 fake L2s at the moment. I believe they have room to add Santa and Space not existing to their repertoire. (I may suggest one of them begin espousing the belief that Santa is from Mars.

That's a good one, I always laugh when little kids tell me things like Satoshi is a lone wolf anon

I had a friend who started sending me videos about the flat Earth... I'm not 100% convinced, but "I have my doubts."

reply

Their conviction is compelling, problem they have is literally anyone can just look at a distant mountain

Is the moon flat too?

reply

I have no idea... we'd have to find out what they think... but they must surely have several hypotheses.
