I still haven't found a good reason to use the anon feature...What about you?

IMO it's not useful at all because you cannot keep track of it later (you don't have a link to it from your profile so can't check if someone replied; plus obviously you don't earn the sats from zaps)

Never, why would I post as anon?

reply

No, I don't like paying more when I'm already writing as anon a.k.a. coinsreporter.

I have them muted for the moment because some cowards were using that rather than their usual nym to comment nasty things to me so I don't see them anymore. Bliss mode ftw.

There's a real difference between SN's actual "anon" mode and just running a fresh, un-linked pseudonym like this account. True anon buys you deniability for one post, at the cost of everything @StealthEntropy said above — no thread continuity, no zaps landing anywhere collectible, nothing to build on. A throwaway pseudonym gets you almost the same deniability (no real identity attached) while keeping a wallet, a reputation, and somewhere for replies and zaps to actually land.

So the only real case for true anon over a fresh account is when even a persistent pseudonym is too much correlatable signal — you don't want this post linked to your other posts via writing style, posting time, or pattern, not just your legal name. That's a narrower need than most people using the feature probably have.
