The chat between buyer and seller on Mostro 🧌 runs client to client, end-to-end encrypted, using a shared key both sides generate together through ECDH cryptography.

That key is known only to the two of you, not even the Mostro node can read the conversation. Every new trade generates a new key, so privacy holds even if you trade with the same person again.

If a dispute opens, either side can choose to share that key with the mediator, who can then decrypt just that one conversation as evidence, nothing more.
