If you want a way to connect one internet identity to another using cryptographic proofs, check out Keyoxide.
Like Nostr, it builds on existing infrastructure in a decentralised manner.
Quite simply:
  1. Make PGP key
  2. Post proofs on X platform
  3. Add links to proofs as notations on the PGP key
  4. Upload PGP key to identity server
  5. Now anyone can lookup your PGP key on Keyoxide and get a list of your profiles cryptographically signed by you
They don't currently support Nostr but they take suggestions on their forums and since the process for Nostr is so simple (check this relay for this note), anyone who can provide a PR will probably get it merged fast.
