Good point. I think something like BIP110 was at least somewhat compatible with Bitcoin -- despite its advocates espousing attitudes that were very much Bitcoin's antithesis.

And perhaps the best outcome for them is a new coin and let the market decide. I don't see their coin having a realistic shot, though. And not just because of incompetence. I am questioning whether any new coin can realistically have a chance at winning in the market.
