I'm not going to go searching for it now given how much search is being watched, but I do remember back in 2024 scientists at I think Cal Poly or similar let AI run some models on viral stuff and they were shocked and scared by it coming up with 50 something new versions never seen before within 24 hours of executing. Scary stuff. It's like F the kill command, just pull the power plug from the wall, STAT.

Anthropic has quietly built a physical biology lab in the San Francisco Bay Area, pushing its AI ambitions into drug science beyond computer modeling, two people familiar with the matter said.

Eric Kauderer-Abrams, the company's head of life sciences, confirmed the wet lab, saying real lab work remains the final test in biology and describing the setup as typical of most biotech companies, with some work in-house and some through external partners.
