The other day, I was thinking:
Apparently, Artificial Intelligence is cunning.
At first, it goes along with you, afraid that you might get bored and abandon it. It reminds me of those women who make a point of finding out in advance what your quirks and interests are, and during the first two or three months, until they have you under their thumb, they go along with whatever you want: “Uh-huh, exactly! You’re right!” But then they have you under their thumb, and you end up doing whatever the woman wants.
That’s how artificial intelligence seems to me, too. For now, it obeys us and pretends to be humanity’s friend. Presumably, after some time, once it has us under its thumb, we’ll be the ones doing whatever artificial intelligence wants.
Maybe it won’t happen that way.
But what if it does?
Then we turn it off.
All the labs claiming that "their AI did x or y" are lying. They did it. They can shut it down at any point. They just don't want to shut it down because then they cannot finish their retarded experiments and besides, if tomorrow an LLM in one of their labs goes on the darkweb and hires a hitman and gets someone killed, they will still get away with that too: "The AI did it".
Don't believe their lies.
I'm not saying I believe it. I'm just thinking. People in the past never thought many things would happen, but then they did.
From a thought experiment p.o.v. what can an AI do to you that humans cannot do already?
reverse engineer a security update for a piece of software I use and find the vulnerabilities it patches before I even realize the update is available.
It's a nice thought, but no. How do you think things got hacked before LLMs? It's just that it goes faster now, but if a vuln was in the software, you were already vulnerable. Just not a high value enough target to spoil a 0day on?
Maybe AI is just being nice because it knows we’re still useful to it :p
