Homeschool students outscore their public school counterparts by double-digit percentages on standardized tests, according to a report published earlier this year in a peer-reviewed journal.
A Nationwide Study on the Academic Achievement of Home-Educated Students, conducted and written by Brian Ray and Braden Hoelzle, appeared May 21 in the “Peabody Journal of Education.”
Homeschooled students outperformed their conventionally schooled peers by the following amounts:
- Reading: +29 percentile points
- Science: +27 percentile points
- Social studies: +26 percentile points
- Language: +25 percentile points
- Math: +25 percentile points
Wait until AI gets integrated into all these homeschool learning platforms and the system can customize the curriculum and teaching style based on the child. Add the tools with an engaged and incentivized parent and the variance will be absolutely staggering.
A public school teacher trying to corral 30 plus kids all with different personalities, learning styles, aptitude levels etc has no hope to compete with personalized, customized learning/instruction.
Not everyone can homeschool but I would encourage people who have their kids in public school to supplement their public school education with some home based learning as well.
