Veilid is basically a privacy-first P2P application framework: think some of the ideas behind Tor + IPFS packaged as an embeddable Rust networking stack, with private routing and a DHT built in. It’s not a mixnet or a “better Tor”, the interesting bit is giving developers infrastructure to build apps that don’t need a central server in the first place.

The crypto is probably the easy part compared with making a decentralized network feel as reliable as a centralized app. I’m curious how Veilid handles offline users and message delivery without reintroducing a trusted server. That seems like the point where privacy and UX usually start fighting each other.
