With privacy tools facing regulatory headwinds and exchange flagging, the debate between acquiring non-KYC Bitcoin vs. mixing existing coins has peaked.
My take:
- Earning or buying pure non-KYC Sats gives you clean provenance from day one without leaving heuristic mixing trails on-chain.
- CoinJoining KYC Sats obfuscates history, but can trigger toxic source-of-funds flags when off-ramping or spending with regulated merchants.
If you had to choose only one privacy strategy for the next 5 years, are you going 100% non-KYC or relying on on-chain privacy tools? Drop your take below! 👇
Buy without KYC, without a doubt. Buy without KYC, without a doubt.
They are not mutually exclusive. Buying non-kyc coins from someone could leave the same heuristics / coinjoin traces as if you coinjoin yourself (the person you are buying the coins from could have coinjoined them too).
Instead, we should work on educating the regulators, and excluding any businesses that use these shady chain analysis heuristics.
