No, not at all, ridiculous. I am specifically referring to capital punishment in general, rather than this specific case.
What she did was abhorrent and has been judged that her actions pose a danger to the rest of us in society and should be excluded. But of course there is more to the story.
She should not walk free, but killing a broken person after 27 years in solitary confinement does not seem to achieve anything positive.
This lady is deeply disturbed, and killed her 18 year old friend when she
was 19. She should not be free, but when you hear about her life and what happened - why wish death on somebody so sick or broken. And after 30 years does it serve any Justice for the family of the victim?
Should society not help the sick and learn from their condition, rather than wielding their corpse as a warning to others?
There is more to the story here, which is advocating for life imprisonment over killing her.

i am not pro crime! that has nothing to do with capital punishment.
capital punishment 'doesn't work', as in its so called positive incentives - crime deterrence - doesn't exist. as a tool of instilling fear in society, it doesn't work either, and is likely to build resentment for the state in the families of the inmate. its a flex by the state that often has negative results.
its hard to justify in the true positive case, and abhorrent when the inmate is actually innocent in the false positive case. Negative justice.
not wanting to kill other murderers does not mean one likes murderers!
homicide is abhorrent, by individuals or by the state. its negatives outweigh any perceived fictional benefit.
for the safety of others in society, we exclude people who kill other people and this is generally acceptable. she has been locked up for 30 years, since age 20.
