some compression of several dimensions of “power” according to Dalio:

the chart below shows the relative powers of the leading countries as measured in indices that measure eight different types of power—education, competitiveness, innovation/technology, trade, economic output, military, financial center status, and reserve currency status.

Thanks. I'm not sure what this means still or if it's even true. And worse, I'm putting question marks next to at least 5 named "empires" whether they actually were empires at all.

I tend to buy Dalio's reasoning having read most of The Changing World Order. This chart is a gross simplification after he spent a few chapters explaining how he's picking empires and defining power.

What's his track record?

He is pumping China because he has big bets in China

reply

sounds like fiction and wishful thinking

Dalio should stay in his lane

reply

I understand that it represents the power or "status" of an empire compared to others over time, measured on a scale of 0 to 1.....!!

That has a tracker! And it is literally on the most offensive site ever. lol

BUT DON'T SWEAT IT!

Here is the actual text[1]

  1. extracted by Mozilla Readability, markdownified by NHM (no GPU ticks were used in this process.) So that other stackers don't have to scrape LinkedIn and get profiled by the corporate pukes and enslaved in databases just to read something that Ray Dalio wrote. ↩

I'm sorry, I hadn't even noticed, it must be the guy who put it on the site where I read it and then fills people with ads

China is rising, it's inevitable, time to capitulate and surrender

That does not answer my question, lol. And thank you for the unsolicited advice, I guess 😂

reply

What is level? nothing but a bunch of fucking nonsense, it's Dalio trying to sound smart and sophisticated

reply
