An FT article this week mentioned that the Head of Policy at Ripple is also the Chair of the 'Digital Pound Foundation' - those pushing for a CBDC in the UK.
So, as well as moving to call for centralizing Bitcoin with Proof of Stake, they're also pushing for digital centralization in the form of a CBDC.
Also this FT Opinion Piece, to me, is a great example of how closed-minded people can be - as shown in it's title:

xrp was literally created for wholesale money transfers.. so for banks and other financial institutions. no normal person should ever have even wanted to go near it.

ohhh ripple know a guy who's big on it lacks to understand big money already has there hands all up in it....its owned and will never get to these ridiculous price evaluations that they put out there...it's sad...perfect example of an educated person misguided by misinformation...

Agreed, the propaganda in that article is laid on very thick, it’s hard to finish reading even half of it
