Also known as pizza ai quattro formaggi, is a style of pizzain Italian cuisine that is topped with a combination of four types of cheese, usually melted together, with (rossa, lit. 'red') or without (bianca, lit. 'white') tomato sauce. It is popular worldwide, including in Italy,[1] and is one of the iconic items from pizzerias' menus
It is believed to originate from the Lazio region at the beginning of the 18th century.[5] Conversely, more recent variants like quattro lati pizza have clearer origins in the history of gastronomy.[6]
We Americans call this 4 cheese pizza but I am not certain if I had this specific pizza with this type of cheese blend. Have I had Gorgonzola cheese? I would think not. Maybe it’s time for me to go to Italy!
Tried a quattro formaggi in Rome, mozzarella melted stretchy cloud. What cheese mix?
How was it? got pics?
Unfortunately not, I eat it before looking at the phone! This was the place.
When in Rome!!
Was last year, why? You there?
Oh it’s just a saying ahahah
It makes me want to eat one of those right now—you're a total tease, lol.
