This is a nice move. Although v few people I know currently add sites to homescreen. Mostly navigate to them via Safari favourites.
Wonder what plans Apple have in place to please European authorities about being able to sideload apps.
Perhaps a web uploader that strips-out their in-app purchase code, still audits and uploads the code to their servers but gives a web build to host on your own domain.
Still seems some way away, but the anti-30% tax is only going to gain traction. End users will still prefer the convenience and extra ☑️ ‘security’ from Apple, so don’t see it hurting them financially that much
