Sounds like a great idea! It would surely give users another way to verify their Signing Devices against tampering, before using it.

I think you could use it. 

The Manufacturer could take a picture of the pattern before shipping and create a page on their website where you (the end user) could compare the pattern to the Serial number of the wallet.
