TABCONF 8 has come and gone. I will do a wrap-up post about my experience over the weekend but FIRST!! We gotta get to this Grub! So here is a list of all the eats that mattered when I was in Atlanta, GA.

Everything I ate in Atlanta, priced in sats.

French Toast ATL

  • Fried catfish
  • Green beans
  • Collards

Good food, portion too small. Fish was crispy, green beans and collards had some seasoning but just a really small portion. For the portion and the price, I think stackers can skip this place.

$21.00 + 18% mandatory gratuity ($24.78 total) = 29,913 sats

Virgil's Gullah Kitchen & Bar

  • Fried flounder over stone-ground cheddar cheese grits with crab gravy

Good food and service, but the grits were cold. I really wish they weren't cold! It ruined it for me and thus I can't recommend this place. The fish was hot though!! Ughhhh

$19.95 = 24,082 sats

Steamhouse Lounge With the Stackers 🥰

  • Lobster bisque cup

Absolutely FANTASTIC! Rich, delicious, some kick. Tasty meaty lobster meat!

$7.00 = 8,450 sats

  • Atl Fish & Grits

The best dish of the trip. Last year I was absolutely in love with these grits. So creamy, so smooth, it was as if they were kissed by God himself! This year it was more of an angel's kiss. The fish was good, the best of all the fried fishes I ate all trip!

$20.00 = 24,142 sats

  • Calamari

It was okay, nothing special, a bit too crispy and a tad salty!

$12.00 = 14,485 sats

Total paid with tax and tip: $50.11 = 60,490 sats

  • Spicy Chicken Nachos

A stacker ordered these for the table and they were quite tasty! I wanted to be greedy and eat them all but I only ate a few. I don't remember them being spicy, just cheesy and crispy with delicious cut chicken. Definitely recommend stackers eat these.

$8.95 = 10,804 sats

TABCONF

  • Boxed lunch #1: tuna salad sandwich, Lay's chips, cookie. Conference-provided.

Run of the mill tuna salad sandwich. Was good, cookie was good, but nothing to rant and rave about.

Free = 0 sats

  • Boxed lunch #2: roast beef and cheese on a pretzel bun, Lay's chips, cookie. Conference-provided.

More of the same! Was good, but what was funny about this one was it was late! Conference folks were hawking the lunch table waiting for the food! 😆 Then one of @tidwell's support was like screw it, I'm grabbing mine, while we waited an extra 10 mins for the roast beef sandwiches to appear!

Hungry AF

  • Jerk Salmon Philly with crinkle fries

This bad boy was tasty. The jerk adds some kick but it had a cheesesteak taste to it. Fries were meh, but I recommend stackers try this out!

$22.79 = 27,510 sats

Goldbergs Airport Deli (ATL Terminal T)

  • Poppy seed bagel stuffed with egg. Pre-flight breakfast on the way home.

Don't remember ever having a poppy seed bagel and it was nothing special. I should've gotten the bagel buttered. It was bland but I needed something light before the flight!

$10.89 = 13,145 sats

And that is all I chomped on while at TABCONF! Atlanta is very average when it comes to food. I expected more.

Until next time!

Lobster bisque looks excellent.

You ate a lot of fish sir.

reply

Indeed! It was!

Are you a pescatarian?

reply

Maybe when I am in Atlanta

My wife doesn't eat fish, can't stand the smell, but I love it, so I only get to have it when I'm out or bbqing. Good choices. ;)
