In the meanwhile, here's a gift link from my actual subscription (that Revolut pays for, but whatever; who's counting)

I enjoyed reading the article. It's more honest than the post suggested, and I agree with the core, I think the problem is attention capture, not individual convenience.

I don't agree with everything, though, for example, talking about "digital technology" as if it were neutral, behind the scroll there are teams of engineers and an industry that makes a lot of money when you lose your time.

So I don't think you're only competing against yourself, you're also competing against a company designing for its guaranteed 6, not your effortful 10.

What I also miss is the environment, my friends come over to breathe country air, if I lived in the city, they wouldn't even come, it's not just the scroll, the design of where you live matters, a lot.

A drink at home costs 2, at the bar 10, if it were only price, we'd meet at home, but we don't, we stay alone with the scroll, so here I think the barrier isn't just the cover charge, it's the sidewalk that tells you where you can be.

Convenience or price, fine, but who captures your attention, who designs your city, and who makes money when you stay still? Very interesting, honestly, I'm even thinking about paying for a subscription to a japanese group to explain why the british don't leave the house anymore, hahah 🤠 thanks for sharing
