The thing about "imperialism" is I don't need you to vote for a puppet party of spies. I can just bomb you until you're politically irrelevant. That's imperialism. A conservative party voting to surrender and peacefully cooperate is not imperialism. That's actually healthy resistance to imperialism, because then you can maintain some semblance of independence. If you vote left you're just going to get starved out and bombed and die for nothing.
