Those speeds are ridiculous! I'm more of a Cricket guy and ever-never someone achieved these speeds in Cricket..though bowling requires much more than throwing there.

Yeah more definitely. As the baller (pitcher) in cricket requires at least a 180 degrees of round shape holding on his hand before releasing the ball. While in baseball, it's thrown which generates more power.

Yes it requires to bounce or be a full toss than only below the waist of the batter.
