Neoliberalism has failed the majority of westerners but the PR consultants and corporate lobbyists have succeeded in blinding enough people to the economic realities that thugs and despots like Trump still get elected and in many cases the alternatives are just as owned by the corporatocracy.
Democracy and western civilisation is dying. The only hope is people waking up to the idiocy of neoliberal dogma and judging by Stacker News and the slavish devotion to its nonsense most stackers have its a looooong shot at best.
China won the trade war by combining state capitalism with free enterprise- just how Britain and the US gained global dominance before them.
Everything from the outsourcing gospel to forever wars, excessive printing and now the tariff drama; are all failed policies of the neoliberals that have done nothing but manufacture poverty for the world.
