This video has gone viral on social media.

TLDW: Some low-tier influencers tried to prank a Red Baron employee stocking shelves by pretending to steal money from his phone. He angrily confronted them as they were leaving the store. It went viral because the employee's anger and frustration resonated with a lot of people. Especially when he says "you're probably making money off this, and I can't even pay my god damn mortgage".

On the positive side of things, sympathizers raised a lot of money for this dude on GoFundMe, and Red Baron has come out in support of him.

What do stackers think? What does this event say about our society?

Personally, one thing I have to say is that the Gen Z influencer's mumbly way of talking is super annoying. By contrast, the Red Baron spoke with clear articulation.

Having created the most advantageous economic conditions of all time, the Americans educated themselves only to turn around and hold contempt for the types of work that allowed for the education to be possible.

The Americans now find themselves amidst a culture where the youth nor their parents find it "cool" to work at McDonald's. They would make their parents more proud and make more money doing useless things that tarnish the soul.

Can you blame them?

reply

The trend of negligent parenting (both parents at work all the time earning money that cantillioners print).

Kids who receive good upbringing, care and attention rarely feel the need to become social media influencers that try to provoke attention any means necessary.

Generally, pranking strangers is anti-social behavior (prank your friends!)

Probably this kid learned a lesson though hopefully.

As a rule, I try to not learn anything from one-off viral videos or posts.

I learned that I hate the way Gen Z talks

reply

I hated the way that one guy talked. You should already know whether you hate the way they talk in general.

reply

I can't stand these stupid prank videos. I am glad he lost it on them.

reply

I'm glad he didn't get physical though, which I can imagine he was tempted to do. The outcome might've been very different if he had.

reply

"I don't" is the honest answer.

Don't really have a hot take

reply

wow, den without a hot take is like a crypto bro without something to sell you

reply

I know! I thought it worth pointing out... that's how rare it is.

Also: fuck the boomers. just FYI

reply

f*** the influencers too!

reply

What an awkward video. The man let out everything he was feeling inside.

Stupid Gen Z, always filming everything to monetize it on TikTok.

reply

I think the emotions in his voice really resonated with people

reply

I believe so too.
